Tanzania first participated at the Olympic Games in 1964 and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for the boycotted 1976 Games

Commonwealth Games

Tanzania is one of the members of Commonwealth countries, therefore it also participated in Gold Coast 2018 Games the in different sports such as Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis and Boxing.

All African Games

The first All-Africa Games were played from July 18, 1965, to July 25, 1965, in Brazzaville, Congo. The first games to open to the entire African continent occurred a full forty years after they were first intended

Anoca Zone V

The Association of National Olympic Committees – Zone V (ANOCA Zone V) is an umbrella organisation of eleven (11) National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in the region.

Africa Beach Games

The 1st African Sal 2019 Beach Games, the largest event ever held in Cape Verde, will bring to the country, more specifically to the tourist island of Sal, about 1,000 athletes and 500 officials from 54 African countries.

YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

The 4th 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 14, 2026, marking the first Olympic event on the African continent. The Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 represent a catalyst for a sporting, social, cultural, educational and economic transformation that will create new hope, opportunities and confidence for young people.
